Started by Agribusiness Development Agency (ADA), benefitting emerging farmers in KZN.
Why was it started?
To create an enabling environment aimed at growing the agricultural sector and improving market access for black commercial farmers and agribusiness entrepreneurs, through intensifying land productivity and maximising value-adding opportunities, thus stimulating job creation and economic inclusion in a sustainable manner.
How was it done?
• Delivery of animal feed for pigs • Provision of management services for a period of twelve months
• Planting and harvesting of maize (50 hectares)
• Repair and maintenance of centre pivot to irrigate 50 hectares.
Social and Economic Implications
About 25 permanent jobs have been created by the project.
Inkululeko Trust managed to reduce their debt and their expenses.
Stock numbers have increased substantially.
