How was it done?
A workers trust was formed which owns 40% of the farm. Platkloof Familitrust will sell 60ha land to Okona Kulunga cc at market related value to establish the project.
Adequate irrigation water was applied for in 2012 and granted in July 2015 for the project.
Develop and maintain 42.86ha table grapes through superior mentorship and cultivar selection. Identify and train employees to become part of the management team through mentorship and continued training.
Social and Economic Implications
Employment of 1300 people 600 permanent. By 2017 400 houses will be built creating three towns.
