Opportunities in the Emerging and Commercial Wildlife Sector
Agri SA and WRSA will host an Actionshop on Friday, 27 October 2017, followed by a 2-day Wildlife & Wine festival, at Leriba Hotel and Spa, Centurion.

The Actionshop will focus on Opportunities in the Emerging and Commercial Wildlife Sector. New and existing game farmers, entrepreneurs and people with an interest in hunting or wildlife-related tourism are invited to join us.

The Transformation Hub of Agri SA has been very active to drive transformation in the agricultural sector. Key outcomes relate to information sharing, to promote networking, transfer of skills and exposure to entrepreneurial opportunities.

Morning session:
Member organisations of HAWASA (Hunting & Wildlife Associations of South Africa), will provide an overview about the wildlife sector and discuss opportunities arising from the production, consumer and service sectors. Aspects of game farming, products, consumptive and trophy hunting as well as tourism will be addressed.

Afternoon session:
This is a good opportunity for existing and new entrants to the wildlife industry to communicate with government officials and financial institutions on ways to enhance inclusive growth within the full value chain. The goal is to determine specific priorities and to appoint task teams to address key issues.

Participating HAWASA organisations:
– AGRA (African Game Ranchers Association)
– CHASA (Confederation of Hunting Associations of SA)
– PHASA (Professional Hunters Association of South Africa)
– SAPA (SA Predators Association)
– WRSA (Wildlife Ranching South Africa)
– WTA (Wildlife Translocation Association)
– SATTA (South African Taxidermy & Tannery Association)
– NHSA (National Sport shooting & Hunting Association)

The Actionshop is free of charge. However, prospective participants are requested to register by Friday, 20 October 2017 and bring along the letter of confirmation.
